Rutland Round

Rutland Round - Long course

Rutland Marathon

WhereAre We?

We are based in Englands Smallest county.

The race site is just outside the village of Empingham in between Oakham and Stamford on the A606.

Our course is on one of the most scenic public spaces in the midlands. Rutland Water is an Anglian water reservoir we are lucky enough to have in our County. The course follows the shore line in two out and back sections, taking in iconic landmarks like Normanton Church and Hambleton Peninsula.

Terrain
The majority of the course is Tarmac. A few miles of the terrain look similar to the picture below. It's beautiful but please be aware the route is slightly looser under foot. The track is used year round, it has been in place for 40+ years. It's well trodden and worn in. We cannot promise there won't be damp sections, especially in the wooded areas.
