WhereAre We?
We are based in Englands Smallest county.
The race site is just outside the village of Empingham in between Oakham and Stamford on the A606.
Our course is on one of the most scenic public spaces in the midlands. Rutland Water is an Anglian water reservoir we are lucky enough to have in our County. The course follows the shore line in two out and back sections, taking in iconic landmarks like Normanton Church and Hambleton Peninsula.

Follow the discover Rutland link for Accommodation, things to do, places to eat, useful links.

Terrain
We get lots of enquiries about the terrain and suggested footwear for this race.
The majority of the course is Tarmac. A few miles of the terrain look similar to the picture below. It's beautiful but please be aware the route is slightly looser under foot. The track is used year round, it has been in place for 40+ years. It's well trodden and worn in. We cannot promise there won't be damp sections, especially in the wooded areas. We run here year round in road shoes. It's not an off road or trail shoe event but please note the difference in terrain. Small sections will take place on grass areas. This includes the start/finish are and a small are in Whitwell to safely bypass the car parks.
The team course does not include any of this varied terrain.
What will you receive before the race?
We do not send race numbers or timing chips to runners. you must collect them on race morning. You should receive an automated confirmation email when you register. If you do not recieve an email please first check your junk email folder. Follow the link to the start list where you will find your name if your registration has been successful.
